Tips and Etiquette in Capri:

When traveling to Capri, it's important to know the proper etiquette when it comes to tipping. While hotel porters and cleaning staff are usually tipped 1 euro per bag. For hotel porters 1-2 euros per day. For housekeeping, taxi drivers are not typically tipped.

In restaurants, it's customary to only tip on exceptional service or when dining in the finest establishments. A general rule of thumb is to leave an extra 10-15% or the change left over from the bill. When it comes to tour guides, it's recommended to tip 5 euros for a half-day tour or 10 euros for a full day if you are part of a large group. For small groups, the tip should be 10% of the tour's total cost.

Additionally, be aware of the term "coperto" on the bill, which is a separate cover charge for services including bread, olives, and other extras automatically brought to the table. Remember to also check for "servizio incluso," which indicates that the tip is already included in the bill.
